Slacking.....

Okay everyone, this is going to sound like one big fat excuse and I guess it is a little bit. I am having a very hard time having time to work out. By the time I pick Deegan up from the sitter and get home it is usually 5:15. My nights are pretty crazy with feeding him (2-3 times before bed), pumping, bathing him, getting us both ready for the next day, showering and so on and so on. Plus I need to have time to actually snuggle and love him and to spend a little time with Eric too. :) I really do not have time to relax let alone workout before it is time to get to bed so we can get up and start all over. I rarely cook dinner anymore either. I know this will get easier as he gets a little older. I think I am still getting used to being a full-time working mom. So I have decided to just take little (really) baby steps. So you are probably wondering the reason for this post.........

I need your help with some simple exercises that I can do in the few minutes I have here and there. Mainly for my tummy and thighs but any would be appreciated. I am entirely disgusted with my body and really want to change it but I am having a very hard time trying to juggle everything. Like, I said, I am sure I am still just getting used to this new normal and in time I will have things more figured out. And hopefully my child will cooperate more soon. :)

  1. Dear Cute Brooke, do you want to good news or the bad news first? Bad news... it doesn't get easier. But the good news is, what ever you can do is good enough. I would say, do try to take time out for yourself and take care of yourself because you will be a better mom if you do, but being a mom isn't always easy and no matter how hard you try, you won't be able to juggle it all. Do what is important and if you only have 5 minutes that's ok. Do 20 sit-ups. It's better than nothing. When it gets warmer you will like taking Deegan for walks. You aren't slacking! There just aren't enought hours in the day.

  2. Thanks Shelley! And yes, I am SO SO excited for nicer weather so I can just take him with me outside! Even if things don't get easier, the bigger he gets the more Eric will be comfortable doing more with him which will be a huge help. At least I hope! ha ha

  3. I agree with Shelley! You are juggling A LOT right now. Start small for sure...I have a workout video that I do on days when I just don't have time to do anything else. It is the Jillian Michaels video called "The Shred" It is 20 minutes long and kicks my butt every time. It is a mix of cardio and strength, but you don't need any special equipment. Only a set of weights. Anyway, good luck with it ALL!

  5. I totally agree with Shelley. Spring will be here soon and you can take your cute baby out for walks. Look on line for some exercises you can do at home before bed that you & Eric can maybe do together.
